OFFICIAL RESOURCES · RESEARCH CHECKED OCTOBER 5, 2026

Paperwork in Arizona.

Find the official resources behind the preparation notes. Use the exact document-specific requirements and current agency forms; a general template does not replace required filing, signing, notice, or transfer procedures.

Vehicle transfers & bills of sale

Arizona has separate title-transfer routes. The official Title Transfer Bill of Sale is restricted to Arizona-titled vehicles.

Coverage: Motor vehicles in the documented guidance. Boat, trailer, firearm, and other asset rules require their own review.

Choose the right transfer route

Use eligible eTitle Transfer, a signed paper title, or Arizona’s official Form 38-1306 for an Arizona-titled vehicle. A general private sale record does not become Form 38-1306.

Document scope: Vehicle Bill of Sale, Motorcycle Bill of Sale, RV & Camper Bill of Sale

Declare brands and liens

Official Form 38-1306 asks for title brands, lienholder information, and joint-owner legal status. Verify those against the MVD title record and secure the necessary lien release before proceeding.

Remove plates and file a sold notice

Remove the plate before handing over the vehicle and submit a Sold Notice promptly. Completing a bill of sale does not file that notice.

Residential rental documents

Check Arizona’s residential rules, move-in records, access, and the correct breach notice.

Coverage: Residential rental research. Commercial, farm, hunting, equipment, and vehicle leases are separate subjects.

Keep the inspection and repair record

The Attorney General’s handbook covers deposits, moving in, privacy, proper notice, habitability, and resolving repair problems. Attach a condition inventory with photographs and record written repair requests. Because the linked handbook predates this review, verify current statutes before relying on its numerical deadlines.

Review housing selection and accommodations

Arizona’s Attorney General enforces state fair housing protections. Keep screening criteria, application decisions, accommodation requests, and the supporting correspondence. Do not treat family composition or a disability accommodation as an ordinary house-rule violation.
