A Kentucky vehicle title assignment requires notarized signatures and processing through the county clerk.
Coverage: Motor vehicles in the documented guidance. Boat, trailer, firearm, and other asset rules require their own review.
Sign the title before a notary
The seller signs the back of the Kentucky title in a notary’s presence. The buyer brings that title, identification, Kentucky insurance, and applicable fees and taxes to the county clerk. Older titles may also require TC96-182.

Local adoption must be checked first
KRS 383.500 authorizes local governments to adopt the Uniform Residential Landlord and Tenant Act in its entirety. Record the city and county and confirm whether the relevant local government has adopted it before using its deposit, repair, entry, or notice procedures. Do not treat the Act’s coverage as automatically statewide.
