Paperwork in Louisiana.
Find the official resources behind the preparation notes. Use the exact document-specific requirements and current agency forms; a general template does not replace required filing, signing, notice, or transfer procedures.
Vehicle transfers & bills of sale
Louisiana title and notarization requirements depend on the ownership documents and where the transfer occurred.
Coverage: Motor vehicles in the documented guidance. Boat, trailer, firearm, and other asset rules require their own review.
Use a notarized sale record when title data is incomplete
OMV requires the notarized bill of sale or invoice with the full vehicle description if the title assignment does not reflect the sale date, price, and buyer/seller signatures. Complete the ownership transfer documents as well.
Document scope: Vehicle Bill of Sale, Motorcycle Bill of Sale, RV & Camper Bill of Sale
Louisiana OMV — Vehicles and transfer requirementsCheck an out-of-state notarization exception
OMV describes additional evidence when neither an out-of-state title assignment nor bill of sale was notarized, including the seller’s out-of-state ID or a qualifying affidavit. Confirm the applicable procedure before relying on this exception.
Document scope: Vehicle Bill of Sale, Motorcycle Bill of Sale, RV & Camper Bill of Sale

Prepare the handover and deposit record
The Attorney General provides a landlord–tenant guide in its resources library. Review the written lease, repair responsibilities, condition inventory, termination terms, and deposit settlement before signing or leaving. Match any landlord demand to the applicable current procedure rather than using a tenant’s courtesy move-out letter.
